lyrics

I saw you and I thought you looked so sweet
I needed you to make my dream complete
Your blue eyes and the win-
some dimple in your chin
Your fragrant femininity
Knocked me off my feet

The signal you sent meant
Sweet dreams of contentment
Were parked in my driveway
And ready to roll
The blossoms were bloomin’
With love all consumin’
But we being human
Were losing control

Then I felt we were somehow losing touch
It seemed you only loved me half as much
Sunbeams turned to rain
Our star was on the wane
Like I came from Spain
And you were speaking Double Dutch

That fifty percent meant
Sweet dreams of contentment
Would grow ever cold
And then slowly implode
I dared to believe you
Would let me deceive you
Said I’d never leave you
Then you hit the road

I buzzed around you
Like a humble bumble bee
Thought I’d caught you
Never thought you’d rumble me

Your wave when you went meant
Sweet dreams of contentment
Were nothing but pie
In a faraway sky
The stories I told you
So I’d get to hold you
The dreams that I sold you
Were nothing but lies
