Brand New Smile
04:48
|
|||
Oh babe, oh honey
I love you so
Don’t need no money
To let you know
Now I leave it to the seasons
Let the wind blow, let it snow, let it shine
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile
Oh Lord, oh darling
I need your touch
I feel I’m falling
I’ve drunk too much
Now I’m through with crying
Crying is not my style
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile
I don’t want to hear about it
You’re saying I don’t love you enough
Don’t know how I lived without it
And all that crazy stuff
Oh babe, oh honey
I love you so
Don’t need no money
To let you know
Now I’m through with crying
Crying is not my style
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile
Oh I’ve got a brand new smile

Stuck On You
04:11
|
|||
See you struggle through your weekdays
Working for your living in the world
Wish away the week and then
Go out dancing and you’re back again
You lose so much life like that
Wishing all your days were through
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
That’s been stuck on you
Can’t go on like this for too much longer
Wasting all your time away
You’ll wake up and wonder where it went
You’ve gotta start living more than one percent
You’ve been living by the rules for too long girl
Doing what they tell you to
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
That’s been stuck on you
You’ve got your number now
Who knows your name
You’ll only lose yourself
If you keep playing the game
You lose so much life like that
Wishing all your days were through
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
Living up to the label
That’s been stuck on you
You’ve gotta make your feelings plain
Say what’s on your mind
Too many nights I know you cry
Try to deny all that you feel inside
The world’s got no rights on your freedom
You can tell them what to do
With the label
With the label
With the label
That’s been stuck on you
Been stuck on you
Been stuck on you

We Dance
04:28
|
|||
What do we do when we get together
Finally come out of our caves
99 ways to talk about the weather
And wondering if Jesus really saves
What do we do when it gets too close
We’re too shy to take the chance
We dance
We dance
We dance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance
Sittin at a party when the drink’s all gone
Wondering how to fill up the space
Pretty soon you find yourself the one to run
And someone who’s got too much time to waste
What do we do when it gets too close
In this kind of circumstance
We dance
We dance
We dance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance
Lady in the corner who’s had too much wine
Sign up saying she’s out at lunch
I know she’s tryin to give me some kind of sign
Pretty soon we’ll come to the crunch
What do you do when it gets that close
Want to run but she won’t give me a chance
We dance
We dance
We dance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance
What do we do when we get together
Finally come out of our caves
99 ways to talk about the weather
And wondering if Jesus really saves
What do we do when it gets too close
We’re too shy to take the chance
We dance
We dance
We dance
Strange kind of desperation we call romance

We Got It Made
02:46
|
|||
Oh mama, I’ve got something to tell you
I’ve got something to tell you
You don’t know
Feels so right for us
Feels so fine
It’s the best shot we played
And we got it made
Oh mama, look at that sun
Look at that sun
Right up ahead
No more night for us
See it shine
I’m so glad you stayed
And we got it made
Been going for a long time now
Seen them come and go
No one can say it’s the wrong time now
Cos you know
You know
My mama, I’m gonna love you forever
Gonna love you forever
And babe
You know it’s real this time
You know it’s right
It’s no masquerade
And we got it made
We got it made
We got it made

Waiting For You
02:43
|
|||
Seems like such a long time
Looking back
Not one rainy day can make you feel that way for so long
Nowhere to belong time
Painted all over black
Now you tried out something and seen it slowly go wrong
We all get to know it
We all have our time to do
But I can’t stop hating the time I spent waiting for you
Seems like just a dream now
Fading away slow
But one dark night can bring it all back home
Just a memory now
Refuses to go
Harms are creeping up behind me and hitting when I’m sitting alone
The light inside me, it shines when you do what you do
But I can’t stop hating the time I spent waiting for you
I threw away all the time I was given
Drifting in a loose way of living
All the time I was wasting
I could have been tasting your love
I’ll never get it back now
I’ve thrown too much at the wall
I was too slow to know I was going the long way down
And it’s a matter of fact now
It ever happened at all
I’d have never have been winning and I’d be endlessly spinning around
You came on my last chance
My good luck was way overdue
But I can’t stop hating the time I spent waiting for you
No I can’t stop hating the time I spent waiting for you
No way I stop hating the time I spent waiting for you

Gloryville
02:32
|
|||
The sun shone down on Gloryville
Made all the metal shine
Paper blew down the avenue
And I drew another slug of my apple wine
There’s a man selling papers on one leg
The other left behind at the war
What’s that?
That’s just something you talk about
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
The moon shone down on Gloryville
Gave it such a friendly look
Man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do
It doesn’t matter about the time it took
Doesn’t matter about the waste all the time and the trouble
Some you listen to and some you ignore
What’s that?
That’s just something you talk about
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
The wind blew cold through Gloryville
Like it tends to do out West
Feel it’s cold and getting hold in a dusty old caress
Somewhere away the sun’s still shining
I’m jumping from an aeroplane door
What’s that?
That’s just something you talk about
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
While you’re waiting in the hardware store
When the rain came down on Gloryville
On the old and undefended
Age old story of misguided glory
Once again been ended
There’s a man lying dead in a foreign world
There’s a woman on a kitchen floor
When the rain came down on Gloryville
Flattening the hardware store
When the rain came down on Gloryville
Flattening the hardware store

Hear the streetlights humming
Hear the sirens crying
Feel the morning coming
Feel the night time dying
No one’s dancing anymore
All is quiet it’s the end of the war
All the people celebrating
Have packed it up and gone
And I want someone to sing me a song
I want someone to sing me a song
In my ears the music’s ringing
Don’t wanna let the feeling go
No one’s laughing no one’s singing
Home’s the only place to go
No one’s making any moves
Nothing left to try for nothing to prove
I always try to do the right thing
Always ends up wrong
And I want someone to sing me a song
I want someone to sing me a song
Sing me something wild
Sing me something gentle
Wanna let my feelings go
Play it loud play it low
Play it soft or sentimental
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care
Soon the church bell will be chiming
See the dawn rise all around me
Ring a ding ding ding ding ding
Once again the morning’s found me
Sitting in a doorway feeling lost and alone
Last night the world was laughing now you hear it moan
I’m looking for a place to hide
Somewhere to belong
And I want someone to sing me a song
I want someone to sing me a song
I want someone to sing me a song

Too Scared to Love
03:41
|
|||
See you got your curtains closed
See you got the blind pulled down
See you got your smile on straight
You’re pretending
Putting on your hurting clothes
No one’s gonna mess you round
No one’s gonna catch
Your straight back bending
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
See you’ve got the front door tight
See you’ve got the catches up
See you’ve got the ‘full’ sign on
You’re a liar
A man alone is always right
Doesn’t need the loving cup
If someone reaches out
You cut the wire
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Never gonna let it roll
Never gonna let it go
You’ve got a safety switch
On your senses
Never gonna lose control
Never gonna let it go
No one’s gonna get behind
Your defences
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
And I know just how you’re feeling
I can see behind your eyes
There’s some things you have to deal in
That you just can’t organise
And you’ll only end up speechless
If you play the silent game
And I know just how you’re feeling
Yeah I know just how you’re feeling
Cos I used to feel the same
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love
Too scared to love

Sitting all alone and wondering why
The world just seems to pass you by
You tell me that you need someone
To bring back all the good times gone
Turn on all your lights and set you free
Baby please don’t leave it all to me
I can’t stop the rain from falling
I can’t make the sun shine
Can’t stop the blues from falling down on you
Tell me you’re the lonely one
Oh babe you’re not the only one
Things that hurt you babe they hurt me too
I’ve been sitting all this time
Trying to put some reasons to your rhyme
You’re never gonna help yourself
If you depend on someone else
To come along and wake you with a kiss
That’s one more boat you’re bound to miss
I can’t stop the rain from falling
I can’t make the sun shine
Can’t stop the blues from falling down on you
Tell me you’re the lonely one
Oh babe you’re not the only one
Things that hurt you babe they hurt me too
Tell me that you want somebody strong
If you mean me, you got it wrong
But baby if you think you can
Go grab yourself a superman
Who’ll make you feel the way you feel you should
Baby there ain’t nobody that good
I can’t stop the rain from falling
I can’t make the sun shine
Can’t stop the blues from falling down on you
Tell me you’re the lonely one
Oh babe you’re not the only one
Things that hurt you babe they hurt me too

Wallpaper
03:16
|
|||
I put a note out for the milkman
And I lock the door up tight
Check on all the windows
And I turn out all the lights
And echoes of our history
Cut through the midnight hour
We’re all buying wallpaper now
All the friends I had my times with
The ones who shared my dreams
Are up to their necks in mortgage cheques
And company pension schemes
Have we had all our freedom
Or just the freedom we’re allowed
We’re all buying wallpaper now
I remember all those crazy days
Of bullets bells and beads
Somehow time has changed our ways
And the nature of our needs
And all that peace and love stuff
All turned upside down somehow
We’re all buying wallpaper now
And everybody’s closing in
And everybody’s buying
One more picture for the wall
To make it right
And all the neighbours nosing in
And all the kids are crying
And Johnny Cool is staying home tonight
To put a note out for the milkman
And to lock the door up tight
Check on all the windows
And turn out all the lights
Will the man who made it through all this
Stand up and take a bow
We’re all buying wallpaper now
We’re all buying wallpaper now

Heaven Bound
02:56
|
|||
Thought of leaving
You hurt me so
Been deceiving me
I got no place else to go
No other city
No other town
I wanna be heaven bound
I want to be loved
And treated nice
You broke my poor heart once babe
Nobody ever does that twice
You can’t grow roses
In stony ground
I wanna be heaven bound
Like a black tom cat
Howling round my door
I’ve had so much of that
Can’t take it anymore
I had to leave you begging
You wouldn’t treat me right
And now I see your black eyes
Shining through the night
Same old story
Same old sound
I wanna be heaven bound
When I get up there
Where those angels tread
I’m gonna give them such a good time
They know that they’re better off dead
I’ll kick them gates right open wide
Show Saint Peter how to boogie on the other side
When I get up there
I ain’t never coming down
I wanna be heaven bound
I wanna be heaven bound
I want to be loved
And treated nice
You broke my poor heart once babe
Nobody ever does that twice
You can’t grow roses
In stony ground
I wanna be heaven bound
I wanna be heaven bound
I wanna be heaven bound

I Will
03:58
|
|||
If you want a hand to hold
Or if you need a guide
If your evening’s feeling cold
You’re welcome here inside
There’s room for one more in my heart
A space for you to fill
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
If you’re lost for a prayer
Don’t spend the night crying
Here’s one who will always care
There’ll be no denying
If you’ve one empty minute
I’ll gladly be in it
If you’ve got some time to kill
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Oh I don’t want to sound
Like I’m following you around
But if you’re down
Please don’t think twice
If you want something from me
That’s the way it’ll be
And believe me I’ll pay the price
So if you want a dream to hang onto
If you need an idea
If you want someone to belong to
Baby I’m here
If you want someone to stand
Like a stone on the sand
Just keeping this crazy world still
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Oh I don’t want to sound
Like I’m following you around
But if you’re down
Please don’t think twice
If you want something from me
That’s the way it’ll be
And believe me I’ll pay the price
So if you want a dream to hang onto
If you need an idea
If you want someone to belong to
Baby I’m here
If you want someone to stand
Like a stone on the sand
Just keeping this crazy world still
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
Ask me to reach out for you
And I will
